School Closed for a week

School closes for the half term holiday today. We re-open on Monday 21st February. It has been a very tricky half term with many staff and children having to isolate due to coronavirus. We hope that you have not noticed too much disruption as we have worked hard to keep all classes open so far in 2022.

Goodbye to Claire Wright

We have recently said goodbye to our Office Manager, Claire Wright. After beating cancer last year, Claire has decided to spend more quality time with her family and to give back to the charities who helped her through her illness. We really miss her expertise in running our admin team, but wish her lots of good health and happiness in this next stage of her life!

Thank you to Jana Kovarova

This month, Jana finished her term as a parent governor. Jana has taken great care to ensure that the school has been well supported in health and safety, finance and administration over the last four years. We thank her for the many hours she has volunteered on behalf of the school and wish her good luck for the future.

Attendance

It’s no surprise that the children who are at school the most, learn the most!
We know it has been hard with covid isolation rules, so a huge well done goes to Year 2 Anning Class who have managed to secure 97% attendance so far in 2022! A big well done also to Year 4 Pankhurst Class who are chasing them down with 96%!
Year 3 Brunel Class and Reception Boot Class have both achieved an incredible 100% week.
After half term, if you are at the bottom of the leader-board in Year 5 & 6 Cuffay, Year 2 Nightingale or Reception Bell, a big push to get in to school for much more learning would be a very good idea!

Midday Supervisor Vacancy

We need a new midday supervisor to look after our children on outdoor play and help them to positively solve any problems between friends at lunchtimes! If you think this might be for you, you can chat to Lorraine (our family worker) about the job at pick-up or drop-off time. The rate of pay is £9.25 per hour, for an hour and a half over lunch time every day. Lovely, out-going, can-do people can collect an application form from the school office. Deadline for application forms to be back with us is 1200 on Monday 28th February. (All jobs in school are subject to an enhanced criminal record check to ensure our children’s safety).
