Academy Trust Leadership Change
13 October 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Nova Education Trust has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, John Tomasevic, will be formally stepping down from the Trust on 30 April 2021.
On behalf of the Nova Education Trust and the more than 9,000 pupils attending our schools, I would like to thank John for his outstanding leadership and service. As CEO, John has provided the strategic lead for the Trust, and was instrumental in our formation and growth
for more than 19 years. I and other Directors wish John well for the future. Prior to taking up the role of CEO, John Tomasevic served as Executive Head Teacher at Toot Hill School, Meden School, NUSA and NUAST, and led Toot Hill School from a ‘satisfactory’ Ofsted judgment in 2004, to ‘good’ in 2008 and ‘outstanding’ in 2011.
After a lifetime working in education, his many other accolades include being appointed as a National Leader of Education and serving on the Department for Education’s Head Teacher Reference Group. During John’s tenure as CEO he built strong foundations for future growth of the trust and the board remain committed to John’s tenet of providing high quality education to all students, regardless of background.
To ensure that the Trust continues to provide the very best education for our learners, the board have appointed Ash Rahman as Chief Executive Officer in the interim. Ash has been Vice-CEO for a number of years and was pivotal in the development of the
Trust over the last 8 years. He is an outstanding leader who is highly respected in the Trust and has a strong local and national reputation. I believe he is well placed and equipped to build upon Nova’s strong foundations to make the Trust even more successful in the future.
Furthermore, can I take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support and commitment to the Nova Education Trust.
Yours faithfully,
Albert Woods, OBE
Chair of NET Board
