Playground upgrade

It's open! (Whole School - 18/01/2019)

Today, children were able to get on the newly re-surfaced play area at the top end of the playground near the Year 5 classrooms. After years of wear and tear it had become too dangerous to play on. The new surface is £21k of safety-certified bonded rubber mulch which is designed to reduce the impact if a child falls over on it. This was really important for us because of the climbing frame in that area. The blue surface around the climbing frame is deeper than the green meaning that it will also reduce the impact if a child falls from the climbing frame itself. Hopefully nobody will be testing that as they are enjoying the improvements!

Plans for the future include surfacing and equipment for the grassy area, dealing with tree roots outside Year 2 and upgrade work to the older climbing frame too.
