Young Carers
A young carer is anyone between the ages of 5 and 24 who:
- provides care, assistance or support to someone else in the family – this could be mum or dad but also a brother, sister, grandparent or other relative
- carries out significant or substantial caring tasks and has a level of responsibility you would usually expect an adult to have. This could include things such as practical or emotional support, help to manage someone's behaviour, support to 'keep an eye' on someone.
On the right of this page are links to websites where support and advice can be found. Our Family Support Assistant, Lorraine Whistler, can also offer support from school - you can call her directly on 0115 807 7755 or email her on familysupport@victoriaprimaryschoo.l.org.uk
